Too expensive and not worth it. The lobster sandwich is not worth the money at all. I wrote an email complaining to the manager and he sent me back some half system generated apology with some experience specific information after. He couldn't wait to "earn my trust again". Looks to me by some of the reviews there's a lot of trust to be earned. Would have loved to enjoyed it more but didn't. Waitress's are pushy on drinks. Crab fries are awesome but it'll take me more to go back?

I visited Chickie's & Pete's THREE TIMES the first week they were open. My first visit was a solid 4 stars. During my first visit to the Drexel Hill location I was impressed by the service, the food, and the ambience. That was on a Saturday around lunchtime...no DJ. Since then I've been back twice, both times at night. Even on a Sunday the 'Yankee fan DJ' was blasting beats in our ears. It wasn't so loud as to induce pain, but definitely made speaking to the person across the table a challenge. So far besides fries, I've had the pork sandwich (white style) (pretty good), the bacon bleu burger (very tasty), and the buffalo chicken cutlet sandwich (meh at best). C&P is what it is, a sports bar with a LOT of TV's (they got wee, they got not-so-wee, and they got FRIGGIN HUGE! [one TV near the bar looks about 15 feet tall]) and mediocre food for the most part. I've wanted to try their wings but I refuse to pay $10 for 12 wings. I've wanted to try their pizza but they are too pricy as well. The fries were great all three times I was there. Glad to see they've been consistent there. I just wish they had different sizes. For two people, the basket they give you is just too much (IMO) and you end up paying $6 with a bunch of fries left in the basket when you're finished with your meal.

Service is ok, no kids menu! Our food didn't come out all together, my husband got his sandwich and my daughter and I got our food 15 min later. I would say the only thing good about this place is to crab fries. I would recommend Maggie's (next door) for better food and service!

Ohhh man they have these things called crab fries. Sooooo choice!!! If rubbing elbows with Delco scum is your thing than this place is a must. Teeth are optional

I could not give this a 5 even though i wanted to. I ordered a cheesesteak and crab fries via phone for pickup they told me 20 minutes and it was ready when i arrived. The fries were excellent as always My beef is with the cheesesteak I guess i was expecting to much but what i got was a steak and then at the end they took some of their cheese sauce and thew that on top. I guess i am a cheese on the bun or cheese throughout type of of dude but this left me thinking the cheese was an afterthought like oh crap that dude wanted cheese. Overall, I will go back but wont order the cheesesteak again.

These reviews make me laugh! This place is a sports bar with tastey food! Why do you think they have all the big TV's? Anyway I've been at this location twice and will be there for every Eagles game this year. Another complaint I see is the long wait, well the place opened a week ago and everyone has been waiting all summer! Of course it's gonna be a long wait, but since I know the area well I just go over to maggies have a beer and wait.

At most was nice and the food was good. Everything that you can expect from this famous sports bar. I really didn't get the chance to enjoy this establishment during a game, but the bar is nice and new so I believe it would be a good time.

A Chickie's & Pete's in the suburbs? Say what? I had to check this one out. I've tried the one on Robbins Avenue in South Philly, so that's my point of reference in reviewing this one. I arrived a few days after its opening, and the place was packed. The inside was quite impressive with tons of flat screens and a lively atmosphere. While I love music in the background, it was so loud here that I was basically screaming in order to be heard. I was impressed with the small wait time to get into the place. Even though there were a lot of people, the wait was five minutes at best. However, once seated, it definitely took 10-15 minutes for someone to arrive and take our order. We ordered everything right away to hopefully minimize anymore wait time. To be fair to our server, she seemed like she was a bit overwhelmed and overworked. I am not sure how many tables each server has, but it seems like she hardly had time to think. When our order arrived, we were missing a drink and a side order. Not having noticed it immediately, it took another 5-10 minutes to get the server and have it corrected. A manager casually dropped by and asked how our experience was, and we said the food was great. We didn't want to get the server in trouble, as we didn't think it was her fault specifically. It seemed more of a restaurant-wide problem. We weren't lying about the food. The crab fries are the main reason that I come to Chickie's & Pete's. I ordered a cheese steak, and it was excellent for a cheese steak outside of the city proper. We asked for the check to avoid more wait time, and, again, that took a lot of time to arrive. While I love the food at this place, I have to say that the wait time for everything except getting into the place was absurd, enough to make me not want to go back to this location despite its suburban location. I think I'll stick with a post-game stop in the South Philly location. The service has never been a problem there.

Ate lunch here today and really enjoyed it. I read some of the reviews for this newly opened restaurant and almost didn't go but now am glad we did. The place was packed on a Friday afternoon and I was a bit surprised and taken back by how close the tables are together. I could have reached over and shared our neighbors pizza without stretching. After reading another review of how the appetizer came after the meal, we ordered the Combo Fries with our drinks and told the waiter we needed more time. While looking at our menus after the initial drink order, some friends came in that we hadn't seen in a while and were seated just behind us. I asked the hostess if we could sit at a larger table together (at the time we were both at tiny two person tables). No problem as they had a couple of larger tables that had just been cleared. I really appreciate their efforts as it made our experience that more enjoyable. The Combo Fries ($8 - sweet potato and crab fries) came and were crisp, tasty and plentiful so much that we shared with the other couple compfortably. They came with a two ounce side each of white cheese sauce and a sweet cinnamon maple sauce. We had sauce left over and if we were not with friends, I would have finished the sauces off with my finger! The sweet potato fries had a hint of sweetness on their own and the crab fries were not overly seasoned. These will definately be ordered again next time. We also ordered the BBQ Burger ($10 - Burger, bacon, cheese, fried onion and BBQ sauce) and the Ultimate Tailgate Burger ($13 - Burger, crabcake, lettuce, tomato and aioli sauce) and thoroughly enjoyed both. Neither needed seasoning or anything! Both came with sliced pickles and a hot cherry pepper. If I had to complain about anything it would be the time we had to wait for the burgers, the lack of chips with a $$ burger and my 'medium rare' was pretty rare in the middle but I can still eat it that way. I only gave it three stars because of the menu prices. We'll be back but not very often at these prices.

I'll keep this short and sweet. Food was what I expected. Not great, but not terrible. However, for the price...terrible. Our server was extremely slow and rude. I've had good time at other Chickie's & Pete's restaurants, but not this one

Visited the Drexel Hill location for the first time a few weeks ago. Took me a while, not sure why. I like what they did with the interior of the place. In taking over the old J.B. Dawson's, they had limited space to work with but did a nice job. The food was as I thought it would be. Same quality as the other locations. The crab fries were hot and fresh. I tried the lobster cheesesteak and enjoyed it a lot. They didn't hold back with the lobster at all. Drink selection was decent. Seemed like they could have had a bit more variety, especially with the local brands but I'm sure that will come in time. Service was average. I have to say that I felt a little rushed in not sitting by the bar area but I guess it seems like there's a heavy flow of customers due to the limited space. I'll stick at three stars for now as the experience was just sort of as expected.

ive been to a few chickies in the city, so i know the food. drexel hill is the best ive ever been at. some chickies are a little full of themselves, but this place kept it real.from the servers, who were awesome, to the food and drinks . raw bar was to die for. party of 4 and we all agreed. of course we had the wings and crabs, but it was mussells in red sauce that sealed the deal. atmosphere is the best. tvs to see all the games. we were there for a flyers game and saw every second of it without any distractions. i live 28 miles from this place, but will be going there again before i head to another chickies

This place stinks let's get real people. I've been here about five times and won't go back and don't get me wrong I'm not expecting five star dining, it advertises as a sports bar but it doesn't even do that well. The food is absolutely terrible. Understaffed and they pack people in like sardines. I don't understand the huge waits outside. It's not worth it.

Went there with the family because my favorite DJ was there Friday night. Have been to the Chickie and Pete's in south philly hundreds of times.. figured I'd try the one near my home. Thank God for the fabulous music! wish they had a dance floor.. now, I had to order 5 (count them) 5 drinks before I felt a thing.. usually 2 drinks and I'm perfect.. couldn't get tipsy there unless you spend a few hundred.. even ordered a double,. eventually had to order rum on the side just to see if there was any liquor in the place.. it's all over the wall! I guess it's just a decoration.. well, after the overcooked mussels and the very unfriendly waitress.. if I ever go back to chickie and pete's it will be in the south philly location.. just for the service. and by the way, they make the mussels fresh there! WTF spent over a hundred dollars.. and still couldn't get a buzz. I know they only hire the pretty skinny girls at all the locations.. can you please hire some experienced waitstaff with a personality? I don't care what they look like.. I want good service and good food when I intend to spend alot.

Awhile ago , I ate at a c&p in New Jersey and we weren't impressed. The food was just okay. So when this new one opened near us in Drexel Hill we decided to give it a shot. First, the appetizers came out AFTER the dinner. The other c&p did that also. This proves that they just want to hurry you out. APPETIZERS COME FIRST! Had the lobster cheesesteak. Was fair at best. Very skimpy on the beef and it was over cooked. Also, I noticed that you do NOT get utensils at your table...YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR THEM! When time to pay the bill, it came to $49.57. I gave the waitress $60. They automatically round UP and I got exactly $10 back with no change. I am glad you kept the $.43 change, since it is the last $$ you will get from me.

OK it's been on my radar to go to this place every since my coworker suggested it. She went to the Parks location and raved about it.. but I didn't think it would matter I figure they all should be about the same. So when I found out there was one in my area I took my family for dinner on a Saturday night in Drexel Hill. Everything came out at different times and I didn't know it was a regular thing I just thought it was ready and they brought it out. My daughter ordered the Chicken Cutlets aka fingers along with fries and the fries came out first and she got the chicken about 15 mins later. At that time the fries were no longer hot. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Soup which came out and was not hot at all and they had no crackers for the soup. I also ordered the White wine mussels and the Lemon Garlic wings. The mussels were the worst I have ever taste they were swimming in a flavorless broth. and the Wings I sent back due to the bitter taste they left in my mouth. Needless to say I was very displeased with this meal and don't think I would be going back at least not on my dime. When we left and asked the waitress to take what was left home because my daughter ordered the chkn fingers she needed more sauce, I was charged an additional 1.00 for sauce. I'm sure if she ate it there and needed more sauce it would have been free...go figure! Why is everything A la Carte at this place. Total Disappointment...

Ok, I used to be a fan, BUT, the Drexel Hill location sucks. The service is horrible. The manager doesn't care. They think they are special but they are not. This place is so over rated! We waited and waited and no waitress approached us, yet they have 6 hostesses, and other waitresses and managers standing around doing nothing. I had to get up and leave! What a joke! Honestly, the last few times I have been there, i have not been happy, its time to say bye, i will never go back again! Thumbs down. They need to stop expanding, the more places they open the worse they get! it takes a lot for me to stop and write a bad review so that should say something~

hostess station had 3 girls. seemed like 1 only wanted to work since the other two were either sitting on the counter or on their cellphones the entire time playing tetris while we were there. seriously never looked up to greet us and responded to questions while staring at her phone and never once looking up. it was insanely unprofessional and i would be embarrassed if i was the manager and saw that from my workers. horrible first impression. i saw the manger come over to the host stand a few times but it didnt seem to stop the cell phone usage. so either the manager doesn't care. or the host doesn't care. (which is pretty obvious) it took over 45 mins to get my mussels- which are a pretty quick meal to make- two other people at the table had finished their food before i got mine. not once did a manager come over to explain why or offer to make it right. wont be going back.

Went here with a group of friends and was not totally impressed. The food was typical C&P's food which was good but my issues were with the service. Not for lack of effort, our service was horribly slow. Too big a crowd for the staff I guess. Waited like 15 minutes for beer refills. When our waitress did come back for refills she only got the for empty glasses rather than check the whole table. Food came out all different times so the group was waiting on food to start eating. It was excessively loud even for a sports bar. I'm not one to shy away from spending money on dining out but I think it's overpriced for what it is. Probably won't go back unless I'm just drinking/eating at the bar. No more table service for me.

This is the first time my boyfriend and I been to a Chickie and Pete's. We went on Saturday 08/04/2012. There was a 45 minute wait which was no big deal. We went inside and was seated at a 2 top table, then this is when the disaster began at the Drexel Hill chickie and Pete's. Another server had to find out who are server was and go get her she was the worst server I had ever had, I do not know how they picked there servers but they need to really get more experianced servers. She took are order which I ordered a Roast Pork sandwich which was good, An order of Crab Nachos which my dog didn't even want to try when I brought them home, my boyfriend ordered a tailgate burger she never asked how he wanted the burger and it came out half raw. I asked the server who's name was Steph B. for two boxes I don't know if she even knew how to count she brought out one. I was so upset that I had to ask the manager for a box and I told him how horrible this server was he did take the nachos back and wrapped them himself. To top it off she never told us the ice tea was flavored and god forbid if I was allergic to the kind of tea it was. We will not be returning. To top it off you think the manager would want us to come back and had offered us something.

As a Philly native, I've been to Chickie's many times and it's really all about the Crabfries and the atmosphere. As someone who doesn't eat seafood, the menu is a bit limited. Their cheesesteaks and roast pork sandwiches are not as good as other local places, but their pizza is pretty different and pretty good. The Crabfries are delicious, of course, and the servers typically start by saying "Can I start you off with something to drink and an order of Crabfries?" Go for fun, go for the fries, but be sure to make another stop if you want a truly transcendent cheesesteak experience, which everyone needs in Philly!

After the second visit, we've decided we won't go back. There was a hair in my mussels and the pepperoni pizza we ordered didn't have any pepperoni. While the server was attentive and apologetic, it's not worth going back again. Disappointing because we were looking forward to having a C&P near our house.

I was really excited when Chickie and Petes opened in the neighborhood. Very disappointed to say the least. Service was poor and unattentive. A ton of staff standing around talking to each other rather than working. Food was overseasoned and downright unenjoyable. Maybe my expectations were too high but still an unenjoyable experience.

Delcoians have been looking forward to this open since the summer. It's still new and awaiting to take on its own personality. Food menu is robust compared to other locations. Servers and hostess are excellent but the bartenders could be friendlier and more welcoming. Overall it's not a bad spot to hang out and watch a few football or baseball games

This was my first time visiting the Del Co location and as always the food was good. It's all pretty standard at any C&P's. What made my day today was that my husband and I went for lunch after running a 5k for Pancreatic Cancer and the manager thanked us for running for cancer and on top of that gave us a discount on our bill. Talk about great customer service. If we lived closer to the area we would definately go again.

My wife and I just moved to Drexel Hill and we thought we would go to Chickie's and Pete's for our date night. I had their CrabFries at Phillie's games growing up, and thought it would be a great place to eat. Was I ever wrong! First of all, the place is so loud, you can barely hear yourself think, let alone talk to your partner. Definitely not a place for kids, although that might not be their target audience. Second, our service was horrendous! We don't consider ourselves picky about atmosphere or service (moving from Penn State, where good service is laughable). Lastly, the food was the worst part. My wife ordered a crabcake sandwich and they drought her the dinner. Instead of righting the wrong, they told us we would still be charged for the platter since she had taken a bite. The waitress showed up to our table maybe twice in one hour. My clams were covered in over-seasoned breading and you couldn't even see the clam meat. I only ate one of the five that it came with. We paid our bill and left without finishing anything. Horrible. We won't be back, ever.

Crabs are a big part of my family's summer traditions. I actually worked in a crab house for about a year in my twenties, where we took in dozens of bushels a day from Maryland in season. With my mom out of town, I decided to sponsor a multi-generational trip to C&P's last night. My Dad (JJ Sr), yours faithfully (JJ) and my son (Lil J) made the short trip to the Drexel Hill location. Now, I've been to the Blvd, NE and Stadium versions and had some idea what to expect. We ordered Mussels Red, Crabs Dirty, the Baked Clams, King Crab Legs and Crab fries. The Mussels were ok, more sauce than broth, not much to dip, like the mussels were steamed in a bag then sauce ladled over. Crabs were small, overcooked, and arrived in a pool of brown pot juice. The clams were mostly bread crumbs. King Crab was snow crab-sized and a skimpy pound, again over cooked. I asked for steak knife to split shells, and they didn't have one. Lil J says he liked the King Crab, but he prefers a local spot where you can get AYCE for a few dollars less. Service was ok, not great or particularly friendly. Atmosphere was sports bar good, lots of families and young people. Plenty of TVs and noise to distract you. So, I may be being crabby, but we won't go back to eat again. For the price, and the fact your are eating out of plastic bowls and baskets, not my idea of good value.

Nice selection of beers on tap. Lots of decent seafood. The trademark "crabfries" are OK, seafood spice mix on the fries is interesting but the accompanying cheese sauce tastes like cheese whiz. I had the nachos... . I wouldn't get them again. Place was half full and still so noisy it was hard to hear across the table. I will be going to the Irish bar at the other side of the parking lot unless my wife is craving seafood.

  • Steve L.

Good: TV's, Nice Bar, Napkin Dispensers at your table. Wings are fully cooked to perfection and not dry. (Wings are not easy, 90% of the area does them wrong). Questionable: Baby lobster tails were good, but were they lobsters or crayfish? Bad: (Could be fixed, place is new) Service was friendly, but lacking expertise. There were a lot of girls just standing around and could not get a plate or silverware when asked, instead they hunted our busy waitress.

We tried this place a couple of times, having high hopes we'd find a good place in the neighborhood we could frequent for a quality casual meal. We've been disappointed every time and have no plans to return. Service is inattentive and slow. The food is overpriced for its quality, which is extremely mediocre at best. The search continues....

A great place to go watch sports, drink beer, and munch on food with friends. They have large booths so that you can fit your group of friends, and TVs all around so no one has a bad view. They menu includes nachos, chicken cutlets, salads, cutlet sandwiches, cheesesteaks, mussels, crabs, and of course, crab fries. The fries are covered in old bay and served with melted American cheese. They're delicious and if you've never had them, you must try them! They have a solid selection of beer and most of the beers are available in a beer tower, which is a great option when sharing with friends. Although this is not a place id go just to have dinner, it is a great place to have nearby to watch the games and have good food.

I am a big fan of C&P. In fact it is a staple when I have out of town guests in. However, when something grows very large at a rapid pace concern sets in. I really hope that the quality and standards of this restaurant company stay intact. This particular location seems to have difficulty executing a seating plan. Not sure if it is staffing issues or what, but you would never see what happens here happen at their Blvd location (which may be their best). Open tables go unseated for lengthy amounts of time before they are filled. Waitresses also do not work the "wait line" like they do at the Blvd. Too many missed opportunities from the jump. The fries are good and you can't do without them but oftentimes taste as if they are over-cooked. I do love that they are served with two canisters of cheese. Service is fair here. Never exceptional and could be a reason why tables are not filled more quickly. The bar is so tight with seats that it is also difficult to get a drink order in if you are not seated there. I am surprised that there is not an app for that. On a totally separate note, Pete needs to leave his ego at the door and let someone else do his radio spots. They are awful and he comes off like an owner of a used car dealership trying to claim a little fame.

People get over yourselves. It's Chickies. It's fries and beer and sports and loud and you're going to wait and your going to get some inconsistencies. It's an institution. Get some crab fries and lighten up. Thanks Pete.

I used always love the original location down in Mayfair, in Philly. The location on the Blvd brought this chain to a new level, I liked that location too. When South Philly opened I was very impressed, Pete deserves this success as he is a very hard worker. They were a five star establishment hands down, any way you sliced it. Now it seems that they are virtually everywhere, and the product, in my observation, has been slipping for some time now and is less consistent. I am giving a solid 3.7 to this chain. Drexel Hill is below that 3.7. They are about a 3 for execution. The bartenders are good, the servers I don't know, I just don't know. I was excited when a Chickies made it to Delco, but they are not living up to the expectations of all the other Chickie's I have enjoyed patronizing over the years. This location is not a destination spot like South Philly. This place is: "I want crab fries, but I am not willing to drive very far to get them, and I guess this will have to do." Crab fries are their staple, signature item. I love Crab Fries, but as of late, in Delco, the fries have not lived up to the legend that they once were. In the last 4 visits they have been overdone, while simultaneously lacking the signature flavor. I sent them back and they came back the same, I don't get it. It is as if they were sitting under a heat lamp waiting for me to order them. Different times of the day I am sure the kitchen is running nonstop on the fryers, but that doesn't mean you make fries for people have not ordered yet. I can't figure out why this keeps happening with the fries, but when you've grown up enjoying something and you have a string of inconsistent dishes you have to wonder. For what it is worth, I don't think anyone at Chickies cares, as the bars are money making machines. I am just one person on Yelp, who was a loyal patron for about two decades. BTW, I have not commented on other issues I experienced at this establishment only because they have been corrected, on subsequent visits, so maybe they are making progress, I don't know.

Glad they out one of these in delco, it's a great place to go and watch sporting events without having to go into the city. The crab fries are delicious, can't go wrong with those. Other than that I think their food is hit or miss and for the most part slightly overpriced. Great beer selection though and beer towers available! Great seating for larger groups and plenty of tvs!

Dear Chickie and Pete. You shouldn't have blue crab legs on your menu if you NEVER have them. My fiance ordered them a year ago, and we were told they were out. Tonight, we decided to try again, and again they were out. The server told us, "we haven't had them in months." Dur. Why are they the first option for crabs on the menu if you never have them? He ordered a roast pork with spinach and provolone instead. The provolone is a liquid sauce, and it is just straight up nasty. I took a bite, and it left an awful film in my mouth. We were told they don't even have sliced cheese in their kitchen. So it's probably comes from a big ol' can of nasty cheese. I give my visit two stars only for the calamari. It was pretty delicious. Not enough to make me want to come back. Maybe if they ever have blue crabs? But after a year, I am going to guess they are only on the menu for decoration.

Been here a bunch of times throughout 2014. The service is usually great and the food is good. If you like sports there are a ton of TVs and there really isn't a bad seat in the place for viewing a game. With the exception of the last time we went the service has always been good. Also on the same night they didn't have everything on the menu. The server didn't explain that before taking our order. For this night I'd give them 2 starts. One of the mangers noticed we were disgruntled and covered our drinks. That was nice. I think it was just a bad night for them with not having a bunch of items on their menu and our server just wasn't good at her job, it happens from time to time. That being said that is the only bad experience I've ever had here and I'll go back.

I'll be honest. The food is not that good. It's very salty and not completely fresh. If you visit, go for the sports bar experience but don't get too excited about the food.

I love the fries at the ballpark and was craving them so came here for dinner. It was just alright. The fries are still delicious and I love the cheese sauce that comes with them. My kids loved them too. I have to take off a star just because they don't have a kids menu. I know this is probably more of an adult hang out kinda place but on a weeknight there were lots of families with kids. Either they are discouraging bringing kids here or they just want you to have to pay for full price entrees. So my son who is 8 had to have a full sized pizza for $11.00. He only ate two pieces of course. Cant they make individual sized pizzas, kids portion chicken tenders etc...guess not. The second reason for my lukewarm review is the hamburger I had was pretty low quality. I only ate half. My sisters chicken cutlet sandwich was on a really awful roll that probably should have been toasted, and there was no lettuce or tomato. She hated it. And the $11.00 pizza I mentioned before had pretty spicy tomato sauce. It was definitely not bad but I wouldn't order it again. Actually, I just wouldn't come again period. I will get the fries at the Phillies game or on the boardwalk. I will say our waitress was attentive and very nice.

Haven't been here in a little while n went lastnight. What a huge difference in service and food quality. It has gone down so much, so fast! Very disappointed! Will Not be going back anytime soon! I ordered mussels, shrimp and couple other things. Half the mussels weren't even cooked all the way! Either way lesson learned.

I really didn't want to write a bad review but we were not impressed at all. I don't know if it's just this location but our food sucked. The only thing that was good was the crab fries. I got a hot roast beef sandwich and it was very bad. Also, it was too big to even fit in your mouth. My bf got some buffalo chicken thing which he was also not impressed with. Our waitress was fine in terms of taking our orders and being quick with everything. However, she seemed miserable. I don't think she smiled once and she made paying with a giftcard which should be simple, very confusing.

Went here again last night. Again I like that this place is here because it brings vitality to the area. I wish I could write top notch reviews about this place, but it's consistently middle of the road. There's nothing worse than when they say there is a 20-30 min wait but there are several open tables (that are unclean) or ones that are roped off. Come on, roped off? Doubtful this place has a VIP coming or a reservation on a Friday at 9pm. The crab fries are good of course. I had the red roast pork sandwich...it was middle of the road, not much flavor. My brother had the wings, he didn't like them much. My sister-in-law had the pizza and she liked it, although they delivered it to her without utensils and a plate. We had to wait for the waitress to come back to have the ability to eat. Standard bad management of service. Waitress was really pushing drinks. I appreciate her trying to keep drinks in front of us but it was almost uncomfortable. Overall, we had a decent time because it's somewhere ok to go locally.

Let me set up the experience and our expectations. I came here on a trip visiting friends that recently relocated here. Our group included four hungry football fans and one adorable toddler. I was told they had awesome crab nachos in advance so my hopes were high--- and in a few words- overall- I did NOT leave disappointed. It was Sunday and the place was hopping. We had a great server that brought our drinks fast, found us seating near the games we wanted to watch, and catered to our adorable nugget God-daughter. The food was delish and incredibly naughty- (I'll blame the men- but we all know I wanted everything that came my way and I may have suggested ordering some or all of it!) We sampled the wings, the crab nachos, cheese fries, and a crab cake sandwich. My fav were the crab nachos. To a Philly resident this may be standard bar fare- but to a Midwesterner it was a treat and a greasy delight! Don't come here expecting white linens and fine food- it's a sports bar. Come here for good service, delish bar food with East Coast flair, and sports...OH and a great time with friends that like to drink, eat, and ...well...be friendly!

Loved C&Ps in south Philly for a long time - was in Drexel hill today - don't order a mixed drink here. No rocks glasses & when you explain that the drink they serve you isn't what you ordered they argue with you! Can't comment on the food because we didn't stay long enough to find out. Will NEVER go back. The customer is always...argued with????

Can't and won't go to any cheap asses and PETE. Cause he has been stealing from his servers for years. He finally got sued with a 8 millon dollar lawsuit. Take the time out to google it.

Well, my love-hate relationship with the Chickie's and Pete's chain continues. To put it best, I agree with all of you. Yes, the food here is as good as any of the other branches of this local chain. Yes, they are a little out of order with serving food in general. Yes, it's remarkably crowded and not terribly comfortable to hang out at all the time. I've had some bad meals at Chickie's in the past. I've also had some good ones. i've had very friendly service. I've also had quite rude service. So why does the Drexel Hill location get 4 stars? Well, this is the place where I finally figured out that the mussels in red sauce are what I should order every time I come here. Put it this way... my wife ordered crab cakes, and got 3 small cakes on her plate with no sides, just some dipping sauce, for $21. They were good, but in my mind not best I ever had for $21. She was still hungry afterward, and between the two of us she tends to eat less. I got the bowl of mussels with the red sauce. I'm usually the one who can really pack it away. And at the end of that bowl, I was full to the gills for $11.95. Oh, that red sauce makes it worthwhile! My tip... if you like mussels, go with them. You'll get your money's worth far more than you will with the crabs. And the bartenders here, great service. They hustle. I loved it. Chickie's and Pete's isn't perfect. In fact they're still overrated to me. But I will say that every now and then, they make me happy. Last night, they succeeded.

I have been a Chickie and Pete's fan before they ever expanded. I think they need to step back and put some effort back into the product. My biggest peeve is the bread for the sandwiches sucks. In a city with numerous great commercially produced breads, they have the lousiest! It has no crust/texture and is generally to soft for the sandwiches. Even bread with the seafood falls apart in the broth. Where I would once go here twice a month, I now only go twice a year. Gotta step up the game !

Since this location has opened, the staff and food have gone south a tad. For example, I order a chicken BLT every time my husband and I come here to watch a sports game. My order is simple and difficult to mess up. However, when I ordered my sandwich last night, I asked for no onion. I received no bacon instead. Also, I ordered a fruity alcoholic beverage with my meal last night. If I can taste 3x more vodka than I can fruit, there's an issue, especially if that is not what I asked for. Lastly, some of the waitresses are just plain snobs. They barely smile and treat you as a burden. Very unprofessional!

First time there tonight. Everything was OK and the burger was really good. When it was time to leave we saw a roach crawling on the wall of our booth. Thank god it was when we were leaving....probably not going back....

"Meh" is perfect. Good wings though. Ok tap list. Agree with others in that I don't know what the place is supposed to be - a cocktail bar, sports bar? family restaurant? A Hooters without the chicks? Parking issues galore.... The entire back wall of the bar is stacked with liquor, like a fancy cocktail bar..... but there's 30 tv's like a sports bar..... but there's a ton of booth tables, like a pub/family place... High ceiling makes it feel very spacious. Parking - Oh, how could I forget? They have a "private lot" right next to the road with an ominous -looking black fence around it, with "parking only for.....and Chickes and Petes" sign... which is kinda how I ended up here. I had wanted to try Maggie O'Neills right next door but the "Parking Police" yelled "Halt! Halt!" So, I figured, what the hey....Do they really need to pay someone to *constantly* monitor the parking? I mean come on, that's pretty douchey to have someone constantly patrol a parking lot.. Wings were good, but everything else overrides the good aspect of it. It seems the clientele is "on" as well, I kinda felt like I was in a Bud light Lime commercial. So, don't expect find me here... like, ever again...

Really disappointing evening here and food was poor as well. We had cheese steaks, ham & cheddar, wings, crab fries. How can a sports bar screw up wings? Will not be back as they don't support our Philly teams and the manager didn't even come over when we complained about them putting on college football instead of the Flyers! Now, I could understand if it was Temple or Penn State, but LSU? Really? Had the nerve to tell our waitress that we would have to "fight it out" with peeps at the bar over tv channel. Are you kidding? Loud atmosphere and smaller tv's, I can stay home and watch my bigger screen tv. Crab fries not as good as they used to be I've had better at the ball park. You have a good suburban location here, but typical of Delco, no one seems to know how to serve up good food.

Absolutely awful. I have given this place so many chances and have been disappointed every single time. I just happened to have found an old gift card for this place and decided to give it one last go. First thing, the bar tenders are never at the bar. It takes quite a bit of effort to get their attention and on top of that, they are not friendly or lively at all. The fries are pretty good but who cares? The wings are some of the absolute worst I've ever eaten. Salty, fatty, mushy (even when asked for them to be well done). It was painful trying to get through the half dozen I ordered. Sandwiches are absolutely disgusting, nothing tastes fresh. I really feel like I do not need to go into too much detail, I hope you take my word for it. The only thing that keeps this place going is its recognizable name and flashy interior.

This is the seafood version of TGI Fridays Ordered the snow crab legs and a salad The salad was gi-normous and topped with their specialty fries (~$9) buto verall pretty good The crab legs were LOADED with tons of seasoning. The 1 lb serving is a generous amount but it was hard to navigate through all the seasoning :) The crab legs were also served with bread for dipping into the crab juice/sauce. Overall it was OK. Good place to hang out and watch sports as this place boasts large screen TV's on every wall plus a good selection of beer

I'm a little surprised by all the negative reviews out there, so I figured I'd throw my 2 cents in. If you are from the Philadelphia area, you probably already know what you are getting from this place. It's a full on chain restaurant/bar at this point with locations all around the city and the surrounding suburbs including at the stadiums and even the airport. If you've never been before, consider it Philly's take on a Buffalo Wild Wings with somewhat of a smaller, more local feel but still maintaining the high-energy vibe. I'm not trying to use this rating to say that you are getting some kind of culinary masterpiece here. What I'm saying is given that this is the type of place you are trying to frequent, I'm giving it a full 5 stars for where it ranks in its class. Came here on a Friday night looking for Crab Fries, a beer, a cheesesteak, and to watch some of the NLCS. Got an order of Crab Fries, which are basically fries with Old Bay and cheese sauce to dip. We're not talking about anything fancy here, but there's something addicting about them. They are the same fries that people will miss half a game in line for at the ball park. The beer I got was a pretty good draft by Victory made specially to be served at Chickie's & Pete's called Crabby Ale. The buffalo chicken cheesesteak was exactly what I was hoping for. The NLCS was played on the big screen behind the bar throughout our meal. It all made for a pretty solid dinner experience. Also, the service was great. Our server, Nicole, was super attentive, and the manager even stopped over halfway through our meal to make sure everything was alright. So all in all, I think this place (and this location in particular) is pretty darn good for a chain sports bar, and I'll certainly be back. If everyone wants to keep listening to all the poor ratings out there, I won't be complaining about no wait for a table again at 8:00 on a Friday night.

I live two blocks away from this location, I can walk there. I thought it was an OK place to go, but after the Pete tax story came out, I stopped frequenting it. Last Sunday night I wanted a drink and being Sunday and after 5, I had to go out for it. I decide to go to chickies because of its proximity to my home and the other bar in the shopping center, Maggies, sometimes has people smoking in it. I walked in at about 8:30 and saw about 10 people at the bar and 2 bartenders. Awesome. Or so I thought. I removed my jacket, sat at a chair, and waited to be greeted. After close to 5 minutes with no one coming up to me for a hello and wondering why they didn't want my money, I headed for the door and told the hostess their bartenders were shit. No idea what they were doing for that amount of time, but they had a chance to win back someone in their neighborhood, and just stood there talking to the other people. Not taking drinks or doing sidework, just talking. I went to Maggies, where there was no one smoking, and was greeted, had my order taken, and received my drink within 60 seconds of sitting down.

Based on previous reviews, poor service seems to be the norm here and we were victims of it as well. In their defense, we did stop in on a very busy night. The local 'Nova hoops team were in the process of being booted from the NCAA tourny by UConn. The place was packed & the TVs were blaring. The hostess was friendly and was able to find a table for us in about 20 minutes. So far so good. We ordered drinks & apps. A few minutes later we ordered entrees. About 10 minutes later (so much for "made to order") everything arrived at the same time - I HATE when that happens! Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and never returned until check-time. As expected, the food was average at best; Nothing stood out & some went uneaten. This was my 2nd & last visit to C&P.

I'm not really sure what people are expecting when they go into a Chickies and Petes. Listen people, this place is for suburbanites and Eagles fans that have no palate what so ever. Suburbanites think its Le Bec Fin because they never come into the city and people who live in the city who eat there couldn't distinguish the difference between a hot dog and a hamburger. At the end of the day, its just an over sized bar with Ore-ida fries that have Old Bay (or their derivative of it) on them.

I hate to say it because I was once a huge fan and promoter, but Chickie's and Pete's just isnt as good as it used to be when there were only two locations. I'll try to be specific to the Drexel Hill location in this review. Let's start with the positives. Our waitress was cute, friendly, smart, and attentive. A+. There are lots of tvs and all the NFL games were on. Now for the nuetrals or negatives. The shrimp I had was okay but didn't have much flavor or heat and it was called hot n' spicy shrimp. Plus it was a mess. I had to use 10 of thse small, poor quality napkins to clean myself up. As I mentioned in the positives section, there are lots of TVs but there was a big pole right through the middle of my sightline to the biggest tv in the whole place. I'm no engineer or feng shui expert but I'd try to figure out a way to configure things so that half the dining room doesn't have a big pole in their line of vision (TWSS). My son's chicken fingers looked like they were reheated from the night before. And I would guess they weren't that great the night before either. There were tough parts (aka cartiledge), just not up to par. I wish I didn't have to write these things because like I said, I used to be a big fan of the franchise but I fear that expansion and main stream recognition has lead to complacency and poor execution. I hope Pete can right the ship before it's too late if its not already. Side note, we were eating on Sunday of the bye week. The cowboys were playing the Vikings. There were two ladies at a table nearby that I could tell have never left Delco, let alone been to Dallas. I told my 5 year old to ask them what part of Texas they're from. I was kidding, thinking he'd never do it. He's normally shy but he does like to make jokes and he knows I hate the cowboys. So, already having clinched father of the year, I told him to says Dallas stinks, give the thumbs down, and boo after asking what part of Dallas they are from. He nailed it all and did it with a smile. They laughed their middle aged smoker's laugh and waived as we walked out. Atta boy!

I'm not even sure where to start. I had never been to Chickie's and Pete's. I always wanted to but I'm not a huge fan of crowed places so when they opened on near me i thought ok maybe now is the time. My fiance and I went last night for the first time. This really isn't an experience i want to have again. It was loud which is ok for a sport bar but it wasn't the game that was loud it was weird club/ techno music. You couldn't hear the game even if you wanted to, which i suppose people do since it's a sports bar. We started off with the crab fries. It was disappointed since the cheese had no taste at all. I had these once at the ball park and they were good but last nights batch didn't taste like anything. Then we got our 2 way over priced sandwiches. He got the burger with bacon and blue cheese which was like 10 or 11 bucks with nothing else with it. Not even lettuce or tomato. I got the red style roast pork. When i figured out how to eat this mess of a sandwich i was conflicted. The pork was juicy but the provolone sauce( yes i said sauce) was just gross. There was so much it looked like a pile of white goop. Also it was so messy i think i emptied the whole napkin tray. I should say I'm not a fancy girl but this place was lacking for even me. I don't think i would ever go back. Lastly now my fiance isn't much for reviews or that sort but he wanted to to add that the food had him spending the next 2 hour at home running to and from the bathroom.

I have to give this place 2 stars for several reasons. I went with my wife and a few friends for a late dinner Sunday night and we had to wait quite a while (30 min or so) for a table. Normally I don't mind waiting, but only if the food is worth it. We ate the traditional basket of crab fries, which are very good, but that was about it. I ordered a shrimp sandwich since they are known for seafood but was mediocre at best. We also ordered cheesesteak nachos which were low on flavor ad well as chips. I am not fond of eating nachos with a fork. It seems unnatural! I was also disappointed when we got our bar bill. The specialty drink menu did not have prices, but I figured around $7 is pretty standard for a mixed drink. I was unhappy to find out they were $9 each and they put the second drink in a smaller glass! If I would have known, I would have complained. I was also not to thrilled with the service. Our waitress was ok, seemed annoyed we were not buying enough alcohol. Im Glad we didnt! I was also disappointed with sending out our food as it is ready. It is totally lame to watch another person eat while you sit there twiddling your thumbs. Other than the fries, the only thing I liked was the interior itself. The place is pretty cool, with gigantic tvs every where, which is fine if you really don't mind sensory overload. I'll try again, but most likely for late night fries. I don't plan to eat there for dinner again.

I agree with another Yelper that they clearly don't know what they are. Are they a sports bar with a menu? Or are they a 'family' restaurant with a bar and TV's for the sporting events? We were seated and greeted by the waitress who, never mentioned her name nor had a name tag. She was nice for the most part. She explained that food was made to order and was brought out when done. Really? A restaurant that makes the food to order? What a novel concept! While most do that, they do not randomly bring everything out. There were 9 of us and, two got their food. After they finished three more meals came. After that the clams came for another, then finally my cheeseburger. Then almost 40 minutes after ordering, my wife and parents finally got the crab legs. They were totally DOUCHED in some seasoning that my mother didn't care for. She mentioned it to the waitress who just simply said: "You could have ordered them without it, or this way, or this way" To what I reply: "You could have told people there are different ways to get the crab legs." The service/delivery of food is a disaster. It's a free for all animal house. While taking the orders for the 9 people in our party, the waitress stopped twice to go over and tell a worker what table a plate went to. In fact, later someone brought over a plate of food and set it on the table only for the waitress to come and take it a few seconds later and put it on another table. I was shocked. The 19th hole? Sounded good. Citrus liquor with Tea and Lemonade? Sign me up! Nope, it was watered down. I thought maybe they put the liquor in the glass with water and some piss for color. Was the burger I ordered good? Yes but, for $10.95 I can go somewhere and get a burger just as good, WITH FRIES!!!! Yeah, that's right. No fries. This was the convo: "I'm not sure if I want fries with my burger, do you have other sides?" "Oh, no, fries don't come with the burger. It's just a burger and pickle. We don't do sides. But you can order fries." No, I will NOT pay $10 for a burger and another $5 for fries. Who the hell do these guys think they are?! $15 for an f'n cheeseburger platter w/ fries? Rest assured my fellow yelpers, it was a dismal display at Chickie and Pete's, a display that has left 9 of us pleasurably going elsewhere. In fact, we all stated if we want good food and drink while watching sports, we will go to Fox and Hound in King Of Prussia.... Sadly, I cannot give this place a negative star so, 1 it will be..... Oh, and they are stuck in 2001. They don't take DISCOVER cards.... Shame

At most was nice and the food was good. Everything that you can expect from this famous sports bar. I really didn't get the chance to enjoy this establishment during a game, but the bar is nice and new so I believe it would be a good time.

  • Courtney H.

Service is ok, no kids menu! Our food didn't come out all together, my husband got his sandwich and my daughter and I got our food 15 min later. I would say the only thing good about this place is to crab fries. I would recommend Maggie's (next door) for better food and service!

Shame

This place is great! Great drink selection, snow crab legs are awesome and service is good too, one of my favorites!

The one manager,Sarah & Alex... made this visit all the best but as for the other arrogant jerk... I would NEVER frequent this location ever again...

Crab fries are awesome but it'll take me more to go back?

ive been to a few chickies in the city, so i know the food. drexel hill is the best ive ever been at. some chickies are a little full of themselves, but this place kept it real.from the servers, who were awesome, to the food and drinks . raw bar was to die for. party of 4 and we all agreed. of course we had the wings and crabs, but it was mussells in red sauce that sealed the deal. atmosphere is the best. tvs to see all the games. we were there for a flyers game and saw every second of it without any distractions. i live 28 miles from this place, but will be going there again before i head to another chickies

    It's a Philly institution, and I'm thrilled it's now in Delco!! :-)

I'll keep this short and sweet. Food was what I expected. Not great, but not terrible. However, for the price...terrible. Our server was extremely slow and rude. I've had good time at other Chickie's & Pete's restaurants, but not this one

hostess station had 3 girls. seemed like 1 only wanted to work since the other two were either sitting on the counter or on their cellphones the entire time playing tetris while we were there. seriously never looked up to greet us and responded to questions while staring at her phone and never once looking up. it was insanely unprofessional and i would be embarrassed if i was the manager and saw that from my workers. horrible first impression. i saw the manger come over to the host stand a few times but it didnt seem to stop the cell phone usage. so either the manager doesn't care. or the host doesn't care. (which is pretty obvious) it took over 45 mins to get my mussels- which are a pretty quick meal to make- two other people at the table had finished their food before i got mine. not once did a manager come over to explain why or offer to make it right. wont be going back.
